Markus Hollop

HollopWhile still very young, not even having finished his studies at the University of Music in Munich, the Berlin born Bass Markus Hollop began an international career that has brought him to some of the most important opera houses and festivals, e.g. the Bavarian State Opera, the Hamburg State Opera, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Opéra National de Paris, the Royal Opera Covent Garden, the Teatro del Liceu Barcelona, the opera houses in Torino, Bologna, and Naples, the Japanese opera companies Nomori and Nikkikei (Tokyo and Yokohama), the Opera Pacific, the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Edinburgh Festival, the Festival de Radio France, and the Ravenna Festival. He works with conductors such as John Eliot Gardiner, Zubin Mehta, Seiji Ozawa, Sebastian Weigle, James Conlon, Claudio Abbado, Wolfgang Sawallisch, and many others. He has sung in productions staged by Andreas Homoki, Robert Carsen, Peter Konwitschny, Peter Stein, Damiano Michieletto, Luc Bondy, and Philippe Arlaud, among others.
