Jiří Havrlant

Jiří Havrlant graduated in piano at Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava. He studied early keyboard instruments at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno with Barbara Maria Willi from 2015. He regularly participates at international early music courses and masterclasses (e.g. with Pierre Hantaï, Ton Koopman, Jörg-Andreas Bötticher, Béatrice Martin, Marek Toporowksi, Pieter Jan Belder, Aline Zylberajch, Edita Keglerová, Alena Hönigová, Bart van Oort, etc.). As an Erasmus student he spent one year at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague where he studied harpsichord  and basso continuo with Fabio Bonizzoni and Patrick Ayrton, and fortepiano with Bart van Oort. He cooperated with various ensembles: Collegium Marianum, Czech Ensemble Baroque, Ensemble Aerea, Janáček Chamber Orchestra. With Czech solo traverso player Michaela Ambrosi forms duo Musica Neglecta and he is also stable member of Drei Engel ensemble. At the Bohuslav Martinů Competition in Prague, he won the Third prize and Special Prize for the best interpretation of piece by Viktor Kalabis (2016) and the First prize as well as the Special prize for the most successful participant in 2021. He also participated in the Prague Spring International Music Competition 2017 and Bach-Wettbewerb Leipzig 2018. In 2019 he won the 1st prize and Special prize in La Stavaganza Early Music Competition in Cluj-Napoca. In 2020 he got the 1st prize at Competition of The Summer School of Baroque Music in Holešov. Havrlant works as a répétiteur and educator at Janáček Conservatoire in Ostrava, Prague Conservatoire and University of Ostrava.
