On Friday, April 15, at 7 pm the Czech Center New York will present the event New Music: Ostrava – New York at the Bohemian National Hall. This will include a concert by international chamber orchestra Ostravská banda (which includes many members of S.E.M. Ensemble), solo performances by Czech violinist Hana Kotková and New York guitarist Elliott Sharp, and a celebration of the release of the group’s debut solo double CD Ostravská banda on Tour, released on Mutable Music.

The concert will also include a screening of the documentary Ostrava’s New Music Foundry and an opportunity to meet with past participants of Ostrava Days. This concert comes two days after Ostravská banda’s April 13 concert at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall.
