Ostrava’s New Music Foundry – Ostrava Days 2009 Documentary
The DVD Ostrava’s New Music Foundry, by
António Pedro Nobre (QQ studio Ostrava) and Jaroslav Šťastný, documents the 5th
biennial of Ostrava Days New Music Institute and Festival. The film contains
footage of festival concerts as well as interviews with students, lectors and
composers.

Days 2009 Report
This Ostrava Days Report 2009 is the fifth
such English publication since 2001. It documents in detail the Institute and Festival
of new music, Ostrava Days (OD), occurring biennially in Ostrava, Czech
Republic. The OD Report 2009 contains transcripts of lectures (Richard Ayres,
Petr Kotík, Bernhard Lang, Phill Niblock, Rebecca Saunders, Michael Schumacher,
Elliott Sharp, Philip Thomas and Christian Wolff) as well as transcripts of
workshops by conductor Roland Kluttig, contrabass clarinetist Theo Nabicht and
pianist Daan Vandewalle. This is the first Report to contain such a high number
of transcripts by musicians and interpreters. The working language of Ostrava
Days is English, and all communication in classes, rehearsals, discussions and
workshops occurs in English.
