Ostrava Days festival met with a record attendance this year. A substantial
part of the audience were visitors from abroad, also far younger audience came
this year.
The audience was very attentive, responsive and completed the already special
atmosphere in the Philharmonic hall, St. Wenceslas church, or even Parník club
or in the Michal Mine.
The general partner of Ostrava Days was
Zdenek Bakala Foundation, Ostrava Days were held with the support of the City
of Ostrava and other ten major institutions and foundations. Having the
opportunity to participate in the grand festival of contemporary music with other accompanying events (eg, Acoustic Image - installation of Pavel Korbička and
Lucie Vítková or exhibition Scores and Paraphrase in a bookstore
Fiducia), it is possible only in a few places in the world. Ostrava has been among them for past 10
years.
Ostrava Days will be held first in 2013. Two-year gap is important for preparation of
program, funding, and organization.
