Ostrava
Days is a working environment, not a school. With two resident
orchestras Janáček Philharmonic and Ostravská banda, the focus is on,
but not limited to, working with large-scale ensembles. It features
seminars by lecturers as well as presentations by guests and
resident-students. Participants interact in an informal manner and one-on-one
sessions are no exception. Approximately 35 student applications will be
accepted. The student body is international and includes composers and
performers from Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. The
Festival program includes selected compositions by resident-students and works
by lecturers and guests of Ostrava Days, among others.
