Festival program featured compositions by György Ligeti, Wolfgang Rihm, Richard Ayres, Lejaren Hiller, Salvatore Sciarrino, Michael Schumacher, John Cage,
Pierre Boulez, Morton Feldman, Charles Ives, Bernhard Lang, Petr
Kotík, František Chaloupka, Phill Niblock, Luigi Nono, Rebecca Saunders, Edgard Varése, Christian Wolff, Iannis Xenakis, Galina Ustwolskaja among others.
On a total 16 concert programs, the festival presented 93 compositions, the majority of them world premieres or Czech Republic premieres including 29 compositions by resident-students of Ostrava Days 2009 Institute.

CONCERT WITH JANÁČEK PHILHARMONIC

Lead by Petr Kotík, the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a
special concert organized in cooperation with Ostrava Center for New Music held on September 3, 2010 at 7pm in Philharmonic Hall (Dům
kultury města Ostravy).

The DVD Ostrava’s New
Music Foundry (in both Czech and
English versions) documents Ostrava Days 2009. We have also just finished the Ostrava Days
2009 Report (English publication). Both of them are available in our office!
