Petr Kotík

Petr Kotík entered the Prague Conservatory to study the flute in 1956 at the age of 14. Four years later, he began to compose, studying privately with Valdimír Šrámek and Jan Rychlík. In 1961, while still a student at the conservatory, he founded the new music group Musica viva pragensis. Since then, Kotík equally concentrates on composing and performing. Shortly after his arrival in the U.S. in 1969, Kotík founded the S.E.M. Ensemble, which expanded in 1992 into The Orchestra of the S.E.M. Ensemble. Kotík then became active as conductor. In 2000, he founded the Ostrava Center for New Music to produce the biennial Ostrava Days, an institute and festival for new music. In 2005, Kotík founded Ostravská banda to become the resident chamber orchestra at Ostrava Days.

Roland Kluttig
Roland Kluttig

is one of today's most accomplished young German conductors. Active in both the opera and symphonic worlds, Mr. Kluttig commands a diverse repertoire ranging from Mozart to Schoenberg and Zappa. He gained considerable acclaim as Associate Conductor for Stuttgart State Opera (2000-04), where the company ranked "Opera of the Year" in Germany four times during 1999 and 2004.

Peter Rundel
Peter Rundel

Born in 1958, Peter Rundel studied violin with Igor Ozim and Ramy Shevelov, conducting with Michael Gielen and Peter Eötvös, and composition with Jack Brimberg. In 1984 he joined the Ensemble Modern, which he performed with for twelve years. In 1987 he gave his debut as a conductor.
