Markéta Drabina Schaffartzik
Markéta Drabina Schaffartzik is a singer, tutor and voice therapist. She studied opera performance at the University of Ostrava and the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where she specialized in oratory and song. Since 2016, she has mostly focused on voice therapy, working at the phoniatry outpatient department at the University Hospital in Ostrava, where she also contributes to research in the fields of vocology, glotography and voice acoustics. Since 2019, she has been teaching music theory and practice at the University of Ostrava. As a performer, she specializes in Baroque and contemporary music, appearing at festivals and venues like Ostrava Days, New Opera Days Ostrava, Hudební současnost, DOX Prague and more on a regular basis. As a guest, she also performs at The National Moravian-Silesian Theater (Purcell: Dido and Aeneas – Belinda; Monteverdi: Il ballo delle ingrate – Amor). She has collaborated with prominent contemporary music figures including Bruno Ferrandis, Bernhard Lang (Hermetica), Ana Sokolović (Svadba, Six voix pour sirènes), Petr Kotík (Děvín), Gareth Davis (Stockhausen: Aus den sieben Tagen), James Layton (Saudade) and more.
