Viktorie Vášová
Viktorie Vášová (1991) graduated in theater directing at DAMU’s Department of Alternative and Puppet Theater in 2019. Having previously studied at the Charles University’s Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, she often draws on and interrogates scientific topics not often found in theater. For a time, she studied both schools simultaneously and has always conceptualized them as two ways of thinking, rather than two career choices. This fusion of different modes of thinking is also reflected in her work, where it first prominently manifested in ADA (Venuše ve Švehlovce). Her further productions include 49bars and Medulla (DISK), Hopi-land (Alfred ve dvoře), Rozkoše na kraji země (Pleasures at Land’s End; Eliadova knihovna Divadla Na zábradlí), or Dodo (Naivní divadlo Liberec); Kwaidan, a musical composition, saw her collaborating with composer Martin Klusák and BERG Orchestra. She is the co-founder of 8lidí (8people), a creative group engaged with social issues or performative interventions in public spaces.
