Jan Nebeský
Jan Nebeský is a director and lecturer at the Department of Dramatic Theatre at DAMU. In 2011, he co-founded JEDL, a theater group for which he’s directed 16 productions to date. In 2005, he received the Alfréd Radok Award for Z cizoty (Out of Estrangement) at Divadlo Na zábradlí. In 2018, he won the Theater Newspaper Award (Cena Divadelních novin) for his production of Nora at Divadlo pod Palmovkou, as well as the Theater Critics Award (Cena divadelní kritiky) for Deník zloděje (The Thief’s Journal). In 2019, he received the Ministry of Culture Award for contribution to theater and also received another Theater Newspaper Award, in the alternative theater category, for Pustina (Waste Land). In 2020, ZAHRADNÍČEK / Vše mé je tvé (ZAHRADNÍČEK / All That Is Mine Is Yours) earned him the Theater Critics Award for best production. He has directed 8 plays by Ibsen to date (Ghosts, John Gabriel Borkman, The Master Builder, The Wild Duck, When We Dead Awaken, Little Eyolf, Heda Gabler, Nora).
