Ahmad Hammad
While Ahmad Hammad belongs to the youngest generation of contemporary musicians, he has already had the chance to contribute to several extraordinary projects in the field. A student of composition, but also organ at the Teplice Conservatory, he has collaborated with several professional orchestras. As an organist, he has performed Jan Zástěra’s cantata Kúmská věštba (Cumean Prophecy) in St. Vitus Cathedral, Prague (with the Band of the Castle Guards and the Police of the Czech Republic). He has accompanied a mass for St. Wenceslas at St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican, alongside the North Bohemian Philharmonic Teplice. He has frequently provided orchestras with arrangements and music, including the score for the revival of Ore Mountains’ national opera Perkmon. He plays the organ at the church of St. John the Baptist, Teplice, and with Collegium Hortense ensemble, for which he also writes his own music. He is a member of Trautzl’s Society for the Arts (Trautzlova umělecká společnost), with which he is involved in reviving and further developing the musical traditions of the Ore Mountains’ foothills.
