Martin Klusák
Martin Klusák (1987) is a Czech composer, sound designer, and intermedia artist, a graduate of FAMU (film sound) and HAMU (composition) with a portfolio of internationally performed works. His work spans a broad range from composition and sound design for film, television, and radio, as well as original musical and intermedia projects that often transcend music and the sonic arts, involving other art forms. He frequently collaborates with the Berg Orchestra in Prague, which has premiered six of his pieces. In 2024, he wrote a piece for Klangforum Wien commissioned by the Prague Spring festival. Two days after the premiere of Lighthouse at Ostrava Days, Lignis, a new orchestral piece commissioned by the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra, the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, and the Emanacje International Music Festival, will be performed. Klusák’s work often explores the intersections of music and film: he has created several experimental musical films and is one of the founders of the Topos Kolektiv group, which explores the boundaries of music, theatre, visual art, and architecture through site-specific performances both in Czechia and abroad.
