Simon Höfele

Simon Höfele has established himself as one of the leading trumpeters of his generation, performing with major orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. In the 2024/25 season he is Artist in Residence with Jenaer Philharmonie, makes his debut with the Tapiola Sinfonietta, and returns to Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, alongside further appearances across Germany. He has collaborated with conductors including Semyon Bychkov, Vladimir Jurowski, Lorenzo Viotti and Joana Mallwitz, and is also an avid chamber musician, performing at Wigmore Hall, Elbphilharmonie, Wiener Konzerthaus and festivals such as Lucerne, Grafenegg and Schleswig-Holstein. He maintains a longstanding duo partnership with pianist Elisabeth Brauß and works with Frank Dupree and Kaan Bulak. Deeply committed to contemporary music, Höfele has premiered works written for him by Lisa Streich, Helena Winkelman, Miroslav Srnka, Konstantia Gourzi, Mark Simpson and others. An exclusive artist with Berlin Classics, his award-winning discography includes the OPUS KLASSIK–winning Standards as well as the acclaimed follow-ups New Standards and Nobody Knows. Since 2023 he has hosted the WDR3 podcast KLASSIK CRUSH, is active in cultural politics as founder of the association Kunstverlust, and teaches as Visiting Artist at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire while giving masterclasses across Europe.
